Set tiers on separator plates, which are 2 in. larger in diameter than
cakes. |

2.
Dowel rod cakes and position separator plates on tiers with feet up.
(Note: separator plates connected by pillars must always be the same size in
diameter). |

Position pillars over feet on separator plates. |

4.
Carefully set cake plate on pillars. Continue adding tiers this way. |

This is the classic 2-plate and pillar construction. |
